Sev is a fried crispy snack made from gram flour / besan and with very less ingredients. This is also called Gujarati sev, which is very popular snack in Gujarat. It is an easy snack for tea time. Ingredients :
Besan - 1 cup
Rice flour - 1/2 cup
Cumin seeds - 1 tbsp
Hing - 1/2 tbsp
Turmeric powder - a pinch
Salt to taste
Pepper - 1 tbsp
Oil to fry
Preparation Method :
1. Combine all dry ingredients in a bowl. Now add 2 tbsp of oil in bowl and rub the flour to make like a crumbs. Then add a little water to knead the dough.
2. Find small portion of dough into sev utensil or sev sancha which is shown in below pic. Used thin one to make sev.
3. Heat oil in a kadai, once the oil is hot, press the sev utensil directly into hot oil.
4. Keep the flame in medium heat. Deep fry the sev till golden. Make sure, its cooked on both sides.
5. Drain in a tissue paper. Allow to cool and store it in a air tight container.
6. Your Besan sev or Gujarati sev is ready to serve.
