Mango Lassi with Rose Water is a delicious twist on the traditional mango lassi and its flavored with rose water to give it a nice aroma and a very refreshing taste. It is a perfect drink to serve for breakfast or lunch time or for evening snack.

Lassi is a very popular and refreshing yogurt based drink in India, especially in Northern parts of India where it’s made thick and creamy and it’s just the perfect drink to sip on this summer.

What is Lassi?

Lassi is a traditional yogurt based drink made in North India, Punjab and Pakistan. There are many variations, sweet and salty flavors of this Indian drink and it can be made by using seasonal ingredients as well.

I remember in my childhood days, my granny made lassi, and it was churned using a wooden hand whisk and a nice froth would collect on top due to churning it. Still my father made lassi using a wooden hand whisk, I also did but now these days, made with ease of a blender, it’s very easy and quick to make equally delicious lassi within seconds.

What is Mango Lassi?

Mango Lassi Recipe is one such fruity variation where plain yogurt with fresh mango puree. For the mangoes, I personally like to use Alphonso or Kesar mangoes to make mango Lassi. They are full of flavours and gives a lovely color to the drink.

So it’s time to bring out those lassi recipes this summer, there are loads on Indian Lassi recipes to choose from, some of my absolute favorites lassi's are simple
cardamom flavored Mango Lassi,
salty lassi(buttermilk)
cucumber lassi and
Sweet Lassi.

Vegan Mango Lassi?

I have many vegan friends in my Instagram list, who always asked me for vegan version of my recipes. So I mentioned it here for their help.

To make vegan mango Lassi replace the regular yogurt with coconut or soy yogurt and milk with it’s vegan substitute.

You can also use maple syrup instead of sugar if you wish to.

This rose water flavored mango lassi is made up with yogurt, ripe mango, sugar, rose water and heaps of ice cubes, this easy to make Indian Mango Lassi is a soothing delicacy. The best part is that it takes all of 5 ingredients and 5 minutes to make and you can make a vegan version too.

Hence, in Bangalore it's already summer, and I make sure to keep jarful of fresh cucumber cooler, watermelon slushie, cantaloupe granita, pineapple mint aqua fresca (an mexican drnk), aam panna, sparkling lemon iced tea always ready in the fridge. This Rose flavored Mango Lassi is soothing delight that you must make and sip this season!

This is super easy to make and is liked by everyone without a doubt. Even my toddler also liked it.

Ingredients:

Homemade Yogurt/Dahi - 2 cups
Ripe Mango Peeled and Cubed - 2 cups
Milk - 1 Cup
Sugar or as needed - 2 tbsp
Rose water - 1 tsp
5-6 Ice Cubes

Preparation Method :

1. Add mango piece, blend it till smooth puree. Add sugar and blend until sugar dissolves.

2. Add milk, yogurt, ice cubes in the jar of a blender. Blend until smooth.

3. Add some more milk if the lassi is too thick. Pour the lassi in serving glasses.

4. Garnish with mint leaves, pistachio slivers and saffron strands. Serve chilled.

Recipe Notes

• If using mango puree, go for the Alphonso mango puree.
• You can add some ice while blending too.
• Frozen mango chunks work well for this recipe as well.
• Gulkand and rose essence are good substitutes for rose water.
• Use vegan yogurt and milk to make a vegan version.

Hello All my friends, readers and Followers. I'm back with one more winter delicacy for you. This is my own personal favorite & very much loved and all time favorite lunch box recipe. Before the season end I wanted to share this easy and simple recipe of aloo methi tamatar sabzi.

Aloo Methi is my one of the most loved sabzi particularly winter time. This formula is once more that my mother's recipe and I'm sharing it with no single change. I strongly believe that Aloo Methi Sabzi is very much needed in every winter season.

You know that fenugreek leaves are fresh and best available in this winter season. It is considered as a winter special medicine.  It is the well-suited solution for basic cold because of its solid antiviral properties.

This is very simple and flavorful recipe. This is made up with few ingredients like fenugreek leaves, potato, tomato and Indian spices, which is easily available in our kitchen. Methi or fenugreek leaves is made mostly in all households in some form of vegetable or in paratha's and dal's. It's winter delight at my home.

We usually make methi paratha, dahi methi poori, gujarati style methi thepla.

Even I can make some quick breakfast recipe from it, especially the paratha from it. Mashed aloo methi sabzi, add some salt, red chilli powder, a pinch of garam masala and amchur powder(dry mango powder). Mix it well and used it in your paratha as stuffing and eat with butter of your choice (white or yellow) or great going with curd or tea.

The fenugreek leaves has a bitter punch and that is why we paired with sweet vegetable which balance the bitterness and that we used in our this recipe is Tomato(tamatar). This is great going with roti, paratha, used as a side dish with dal, roti, dahi and side salad.

Tomato imparts a sweet and sour burst and makes the dish look beautiful along with dark green fenugreek leaves and yellow potatoes! Try this simple recipe of methi along with potato and tomato.

Ingredients

Fenugreek leaves (Methi leaves) – 1 bunch
Potato – 2 large, cubed
Tomato – 2 medium sized, finely chopped
Green chillies - 1 to 2 no, finely chopped (as per your preference)
Red chilli powder – 1 tsp or to taste
Turmeric powder / Haldi – 1/2 tsp (optional)
Dhaniya powder/ Coriander powder -  1/2 tsp
Garam masala - 1/4 tbsp
Salt to taste
Oil – 2 -3 tbsp

Preparation Method

1. Clean the fenugreek leaves and finely chopped it. Wash the fenugreek leaves properly and then chop it finely.

2. Heat the oil in a saucepan/kadai. When the oil is hot enough, now add the cubed potatoes and fry on high heat for a few minutes. This will crisp the potatoes on the outside.

3. Next add the finely chopped fenugreek leaves and green chilies. Fry for a minute.

4. Now add chopped tomatoes, mix in the masala's – red chilli powder, turmeric powder (haldi), coriander powder, salt and mix well..

5. Cover the saucepan/kadai and lower the heat. Stir often. Cook until the potatoes and tomatoes are soft.

6. Now fry for a few minutes. This will add a crispy layer to the cooked vegetables. Add garam masala powder, mix well.

7. Serve with roti and raita.

The weather has warmed up a bit and I am craving smoothies and protein shakes. Banana Kiwi Smoothie is a delicious creamy beverage prepared by blending banana, kiwi, milk, chia seeds and honey. The addition of chia seeds to this drink gives you added fiber and nutrients. This banana kiwi smoothie is a meal in a glass, and really tasty, too!

With a base of frozen banana and fresh kiwi, play a great smoothie which is rich in fiber to keep our systems in good working order.

It can also help ensure to start the day with a dose of nutrition, which can be reassuring if they are sometimes reluctant to eat their fruits and veggies in other forms.

Banana Kiwi smoothie is slightly thick and naturally sweetened with honey, I didn't use sugar. It's a fantastic way to start your day. This yummy smoothie blend with kiwi's, bananas and all of your favorite fruits in a blender with low-fat yogurt or skim milk. Isn't it so yummy 😋😋

The trick to a tasty KIWI BANANA smoothie with chia seeds is to make sure that you use the skimmed milk or toned milk which has no cream and very light in weight, as compared to full cream milk. For my vegan friends, they can use soy milk or almond milk also. There is no need to soak chia seeds, use it as raw seeds. Even you can add yogurt instead of milk. Serve immediately!

This is sugar free smoothie, I have used honey into to it to work as a sweetener, if you don't like honey.. you can use sugar too or make it simple with no sweetener. and I must say it's a STRESS BUSTER smoothie.

Delicious smoothies are an awesome way to pack tons of nutrition into a delicious treat that you can anywhere. This smoothie will give you energy and keep you feeling full for hours.

INGREDIENTS :

Small sliced frozen banana - 1 no
Kiwi, peeled and sliced - 1 medium
Skimmed Milk / Toned milk - 1 cup
Chia seeds - 1 teaspoon
Honey /Sugar - 1 tablespoon honey, optional

PREPARATION METHOD :

1. Slice the banana and freeze it for 1 hour.

2. Add all the ingredients in a blender and pulse until smooth.

3. Pour into a glass and serve with chopped kiwi, banana and chia seeds on top to taste.

You can’t beat how easy, healthy, and simple date bars they are. These are a perfect munching snack box treat for festivals time or holidays season. I also love having them on hand for those times I need a treat terribly but know that I don’t really need a treat. They are perfect craving busters.

What are the benefits of eating dates?

Dates are a great food to include in your kids day. Not only are the packed with fiber (almost a full gram of fiber per date) they are portable and delicious.  This makes them easy to take an eat on the go. They are higher in calories than other fruit which is great for picky eaters. That’s what makes these bars an even better snack, kids can eat dates with healthy dry fruits all day long.

Because dates are so sweet, dates provide the perfect natural alternative to added sugars in any date recipe. In fact, dates are such a great source of natural sugar, they have been processed to make natural sweeteners such as date juice, date sugar, dehydrated dates, date paste, ground dates, and even diced dates that you can add to recipes you want to sweeten up naturally.

I remember my mom used to soak almonds and give it to us all siblings in morning time when we were kids. Soaked almond are really cool for our body, they never gives heat to it. Otherwise almonds are so heated snacks, while having or eating them as raw. I used to soak almonds at night, for me and for my kiddo and husband and next day morning peel the almonds and give them as a snack in breakfast or with milk.

Can I eat dates every day?

You can! One serving of dates is 5-6 dates, which is really easy to do when you blend them in a mixer and make delicious no bake date bars like this!


This superfood energy bar recipe is 100% kids friendly and the perfect wholesome snack recipe. Easy, nutritious and much less expensive than the store-bought bars.

You can use cashews or apricot also to make such nut bars. Mix and match dry fruits as per availability. There is no need to add any liquid ingredients. I think a high power blender or food processor could be used to make these, but I haven’t tried it myself. I have tried it normal mixer grinder.


So let's see how to make make this vegan, gluten free and sugar free date energy bars with simple steps.

Ingredients :

Measuring cup used, 1 cup = 240 ml, 1 tsp = 5ml, 1 tbsp = 15ml
                                                                                 
Dates seeds removed - 1 and half cup(1.5 cup)
Walnut - 1/2 cup
Almonds - 1/4 cup
Dessicated coconut - 1/4 cup
Sunflower seeds - 2 tbsp

Preparation Method :

1. First of all, clean the dates and remove seeds.

2. In a mixer or food processor add walnut, almonds. Pulse for 10 seconds. Repeat this until dry fruits are broken into pieces. Add

3.  To this add seeds and coconut. Pulse for 10 seconds.

4. Add dates, pulse for 20 seconds. Repeat this for 2-3 times till dates are crushed and mixed with dry fruit mixture.

5. Line a parchment paper in a baking pan or in a plate.

6. Pour this mixture in the pan and set it with the help of a spatula. Spread some sunflower seeds on top. Set them and keep in the fridge until they firm.

7. Remove the bars from the pan and cut into pieces using a sharp knife. Enjoy these bars cold or frozen. Store in an air-tight container in the fridge or freezer.
