Crispy Bread Cutlet | Quick Snack Recipe

A deep fried tea-time or evening snack which is best going with tea and cold shakes also. It is an easy Indian snack recipe prepared with mashed potatoes, bread and other Indian spices. It is very crispy and delicious snack recipe. In my home everybody is a big fan of this cutlet. 

For this recipe i didn't use bread crumbs for external crispy texture of cutlet I used some other my food experience which is best going with this. It is a very popular snack item. The origin of this recipe was coming from my Mom's Kitchen. Love you Maa <3 for taught me wonderful authentic Punjabi recipes.

Let's start to make this easy and crispy bread cutlet recipe with simple step-by-step process with photos.

Ingredients :

White Bread - 4 slices 
Finely Chopped Onion - 1 nos
Potato - 2 nos (Boil, peel and mashed)
Boiled Green Peas - 1/2 cup
Chopped Green chillies - 1 no
Rusk Crumbs / You can use Dry Bread Crumbs -1/3 cup
Grated Ginger - 1/2 tbsp
Red chilli Powder
Garam masala powder
Salt to taste
Water 
Oil

Cooking Tip : For making Rusk Crumbs

1. Take 2 Rusk in a grinder or you can use clean Kitchen cloth, crush it with the roller for 2 minutes, place the crumb in a plate. Your rusk crumbs is ready which is shown in below pic.

Preparation Method :

1. In a bowl, take mashed potatoes, boiled green peas, chopped onions, chopped green chillies, grated ginger(optional) and mix it well.

2. Now add all spices like salt to taste, red chilli powder and garam masala powder in it.

3. Now its time for binding the mixture, we need to use soaked bread.

4. Soak the bread in water and squeeze all the water by pressing bread lightly between the palms (because mashed potatoes will stick easily with the bread).

5. Add mashed potato mixture into the bread and make a shape using with your hands.

6. Now roll each of them in rusk crumbs (to make more crisper taste).

7. Heat oil in a kadai and deep fry these cutlet, gently fried all the sides until golden brown.

8. Serve them hot with tomato ketchup, coriander chutney.
