Khajur Imli Ki Chutney | Dates Tamarind Chutney | Sweet Chutney for Chaats

Khajur Imli Ki Chutney
Khajur Imli Ki Chutney is sweet, lip smacking and tangy dip made from dates, tamarind and jaggery. As this chutney is too sweet, it is also called Sweet Chutney. This chutney is an essential component in chaats like dahi papdi chaat, sabudana vada, samosa chaat and many more.

Apart from mint and coriander chutney, this is the most popular chutney of Northern India. It is served with each and every snack and chaat items ,no chaat is complete with out this tangy chutney.

What is Chutney?

Chutney is a side condiments or relish like sauce or side dip originating In India. The ingredients typically include a combination of fruits and vegetables, along with herbs and spices that create a sweet and spicy flavor. Which can be served with daily meals or breakfast dist or with snacks.

What is the shelf life of Date Tamarind Chutney?

khajur imli ki chutney can be stored refrigerated for upto a month and deep frozen for more than 6 months.
Dates Tamarind Chutney

To make the Date Tamarind Chutney, we cooked the de-seeded dates, tamarind and jaggery along with some water till it soften and then blended it to make a coarse mixture with the help of a hand blender.

We then added all the spices which are used to elevate the flavours of the khajoor imli ki chutney like the chili powder, cumin powder, black salt and ginger powder(saunth) and few more....simmered the chutney till it reached the right consistency.

I personally don't like pressure cook method, I saw people using it, pressure cook is just for time saving constraint.  If you want to make in short span of time, you can use the pressure cooker method of dates tamarind chutney 👉 The procedure is same- pressure cook all- dates, tamarind and jaggery along with some water, pressure cook it and blend it and then add all spices and simmer it for few minutes.
IMLI AUR KHAJOOR CHUTNEY

Khajoor Imli chutney is quite easy to make and their are few other versions of making this chutney other then making with tamarind, we can also make plain tamarind ki chutney with sugar or jaggery.

Along with tamarind chutney the spicy Green chutney is also made prior to all the festival and celebrations.

It taste great with all snacks and starters like aloo tikki chaat, dahi vada, papdi, matar chaat, khaman dhokla too and almost every street food and chaat items.
